World Breastfeeding Week 2024
The SDM Institute of Nursing Sciences, under the auspices of Shri Dharmasthala
Manjunatheshwara University, celebrated World Breastfeeding Week 2024 from
August 1st to August 7th. This year's theme, "Closing the gap : Breastfeeding
support for all." highlighted the crucial role breastfeeding plays in ensuring the
health and well-being of infants and mothers. The event aimed to promote
awareness, provide education, and support breastfeeding practices within the
community.

and HOD of Pediatrics’, SDMCMS &H.

- The B.Sc. Nursing sixth-semester students performed a role play on
"Myths and Beliefs about Breastfeeding."
August 2, 2024 : Community Outreach Program
- Activity : Breastfeeding Awareness Campaign
- Objective : To educate the community about the benefits of breastfeeding
and to provide practical tips and support for breastfeeding mothers.

- The outreach program included visits to local communities where healthcare professionals and nursing students conducted interactive sessions.
