Keeping in line with the prime objective and the commitment of the SDME Society of providing value based education and social service to address the ever growing demand of the society for quality health care by service oriented health care professionals in a quality infrastructure at an affordable cost. Students graduated from our Nursing Institute are bringing laurels to the Institute through their professional conduct, character and practice of value based Nursing.

Education should teach not only what to think about but also how to think. Just learning and passing examination is not education but educating one's self is the right education. Only through right education we can build a right society. With this motto in mind, our beloved President Rev. Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade established this educational Institution.

It gives me an immense pleasure to the virtual tour of our SDM Institute of Nursing Sciences, Dharwad, established in the year 2006 under the auspice of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society, Dharwad. Today the Institute is enjoying the status of Constituent Unit of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, Dharwad a unique multidisciplinary private University is the culmination of vision of our founder Poojya Shri D. Veerendra Heggade, Hon'ble Chancellor. It is one of the renowned Nursing Institute imparting quality nursing education in northern part of Karnataka.

In rapidly changing education scenario and health care delivery system, development in information and communication technology, the nursing education has become more dynamic than ever before.

I personally believe that, education we impart should develop imagination of the student. The imagination is where new ideas are created progress becomes possible and becomes more important than knowledge. Because knowledge is what we already know, whereas the imagination is what moves the individuals forward. Imagination needs innovation. Hence at the SDM Institute of Nursing Sciences.
