About Our Department

The Department of Mental Health Nursing is a specialized field of nursing aimed at promotion of positive health, prevention of physical, mental illness and alleviating sufferings through provision of quality nursing care, counselling and research by applying concept and principles of Psychiatric Nursing.

Consideration is given on individual physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in the context of individual lived experience of significant environment of which the individual is part. Provide education, care and therapy on maintenance and restoration of mental health.

Mental health nurses also support clients and their families during life crises and transition periods, by liaising discretely and efficiently with a range of health care providers.
