The Department of Community Health Nursing is one among the six departments of faculty of nursing, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University. The Department actively participates in training, service and research in the field of Community Health Nursing.
The field training is imparted in both rural and urban areas. The rural community health training is given at Yadwad Primary Health Centre, Dharwad District. The urban health experience is provided under the umbrella of urban health centre Vidyagiri, Dharwad. The course is geared towards equipping the graduates with the core competencies to implement various interventions including health promotion, disease prevention and direct holistic community care strategies. The Department actively participates in all National and International health programme.
On regular basis the department organizes and conduct various programmes such as MCH program, Community Extension Activities, NSS Activities, Nutrition program, Sanitation program, Immunization program, HIV / AIDS Awareness program. Conducts need based individual group and mass health education.
