World Hypertension Day 2024

SDM Institute of Nursing Sciences observed World Hypertension Day on the Theme of "Measure your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control it, Live Longer" recently. Various activities like Rally, Pledge taking Ceremony at Lakamapur Village, Old age home visits, Monitoring Blood Pressure in the Health Institutions, Quiz and Poster presentation competitions were conducted.

Dr. Pushpa Patil , Professor and HOD of Community Medicine inaugurated the Rally and told that

• People above 40 years of age must regularly have the Hypertension Check-up
• Both high blood pressure and low blood pressure causes many health problems
• Patients with hypertension must consult the Physicians
• People should have decent & good lifestyle which prevents diseases
• Family history is also causes for hypertension and there may not be any symptoms
• People should maintain healthy Diet and regular exercises daily such as Yoga and Meditation

Dr. Deepti & Dr. Vandana from Dept. of Community Medicine, Dr. Prasanna Deshpande, Principal, SDM Nursing College, Mr. Mallikarjun P, Mrs. Renuka Bagewadi, Mr. Praveen Tuppad and Panchayat Leader of Lakamapur was present during the function. The people of Lakamapur village and GNM Nursing Students are witnessed the program.
