Nurses Week and Nurse's Day Celebration 2025

In honor of the dedication, compassion, and tireless service of nurses, the SDM Institute of Nursing Sciences in collaboration with the Department of Nursing Services celebrated Nurses Week 2025 from May 4 to 9, culminating in the Nurse's Day Celebration on May 12, 2025, under the auspices of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University.

Nurses Week Highlights (May 04 to 09, 2025):

The week brought together students, faculty, and staff in a series of engaging activities focused on sports, culture, creativity, and academics:

  • May 04: Cricket Tournament: Friendly matches between staff and students.
  • May 05: Indoor & Outdoor Games: Chess, carrom, throwball, volleyball, and slow cycling.
  • May 06: Cultural Creativity Day: Rangoli, Mehendi, theme dance, fashion show, and the official Theme Inauguration.
  • May 07: Athletics & Fun Staff Games: Shot put, discus, javelin, long jump; plus, musical chairs and balloon balancing.
  • May 08: Literary Competitions: Essay writing, quiz, and pick & speak contests.
  • May 09: Grand Finale Games: Football, badminton, housie, dumb charades, lagori, and a thrilling treasure hunt.

The week ended with the Prize Distribution Ceremony in the presence of institute dignitaries, recognizing the efforts and achievements of the participants.

Nurse’s Day Celebration (May 12, 2025):

The formal Nurse’s Day program was held at Shri D. Veerendra Heggade Kalakshetra, SDMCMS&H Campus, Dharwad, at 3:00 PM.

Chief Guest:

Dr. Chidendra M. Shettar, Registrar, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, graced the occasion and delivered an inspiring address acknowledging the noble contribution of nurses to society.
