Induction Programme for 2026-27 Batch

The Induction Programme for the 2026–27 batch was organized by the SDM Institute of Nursing Sciences, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, Manjushree Nagara, Sattur, Dharwad, for the newly admitted students of M.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing, GNM Nursing and GDHA.

The programme was conducted on 12th September 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Ishaavaasyam Auditorium, Manjushree Block. The programme aimed to warmly welcome the new students and familiarize them with the academic environment, faculty, institutional guidelines and professional expectations.

Aim of the Programme:

The aim of the induction programme was to:

• Welcome the newly admitted students to the institution.
• Familiarize students with the academic and clinical environment.
• Introduce students to the faculty members and institutional guidelines.
• Provide information regarding the rules and regulations of the college and hospital.
• Motivate students towards professional growth and responsible nursing practice.

Programme Details:

The programme commenced with an invocation, followed by a welcome address. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was conducted as a symbol of knowledge, learning and the beginning of a new academic journey.

The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Niranjan Kumar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, along with the distinguished dignitaries and faculty members.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Niranjan Kumar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, delivered an inspiring speech and emphasized the importance of the nurse’s role in creating and maintaining a therapeutic environment. He highlighted the significance of compassionate care, effective communication, professional responsibility and a supportive approach in promoting patients’ well-being.

The dignitaries also presented a token of love to the students as a gesture of welcome and encouragement.

The faculty members introduced themselves to the newly admitted students and warmly welcomed them to the institution. This interaction helped the students become familiar with their teachers and created a friendly and supportive academic environment.

Mr. Basavaraj, Associate Professor, Department of Adult Health Nursing, addressed the students regarding the rules and regulations of the college and hospital. He explained the importance of maintaining discipline, professional conduct, punctuality, proper communication, and adherence to institutional and clinical guidelines.

The programme continued with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, students and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the induction programme. The event concluded with high tea.

Conclusion:

The Induction Programme 2026–27 was successfully conducted in a warm, welcoming and informative atmosphere. The programme provided an opportunity for the newly admitted students to interact with the dignitaries and faculty members and gain an understanding of the academic, professional and clinical expectations.

The guidance provided by the Chief Guest and faculty members, along with the introduction to the college and hospital rules and regulations, helped the students begin their academic journey with greater awareness and confidence.
