The SDM Institute of Nursing Sciences successfully organized the Induction Program on 21st October 2024 for the newly admitted students of M.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing, and GNM Nursing for the academic year 2024-25. The event, held in Ishavasyam Hall, was designed to warmly welcome the new batch of students and introduce them to the academic, social, and cultural environment of the institution.
The program commenced with an invocation, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony. The Chief Guest, Dr. Niranjanakumar, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, delivered an inspiring address that emphasized the importance of education and professionalism in nursing, encouraging students to fully embrace the opportunities ahead of them.
The event was graced by the presence of Smt. Padmalatha Niranjan, Executive Director and Member of the Board of Governors (BOG) at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, as the Guest of Honour. Shri Sakest Shetty, Director of Administration at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, was also in attendance as a Special Guest. Other dignitaries included Dr. Kiran Hegde, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Prasanna Deshpande, I/c Principal of SDM Institute of Nursing Sciences, Mrs. Manjula K.B., Nursing Superintendent, and Dr. Rangappa S. Ashi, Vice Principal of SDM Institute of Nursing Sciences.
The program was skillfully anchored by Dr. Tilak Joshi, who served as the Master of Ceremonies (MoC). The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Nagesh V.A., while the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Metilda Bijapur, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries and attendees.
This induction program marked the beginning of a new academic journey for the students, providing them with valuable insights into the institution's values, the nursing profession, and the expectations for their academic and professional growth.
